Wiley, a leading global publisher, has announced a new open access agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) for 2024. This collaboration aims to improve access to scholarly resources for IIT Kharagpur, a top technology institute. Through this partnership, IIT Kharagpur's scholars and researchers will have reading access to Wiley's journal portfolio and can publish open access in over 1,300 of Wiley's hybrid journals.
Dr. B. Sutradhar, Librarian at IIT Kharagpur, highlighted that this agreement is a significant step towards advancing open science, benefiting researchers by enhancing knowledge dissemination and promoting collaborative research. Mr. Ritesh Kumar, Country Lead for Wiley in India, expressed pleasure in partnering with IIT Kharagpur, emphasizing that the collaboration supports Wiley's mission to empower researchers and accelerate scientific progress through open access publishing. He also noted India's strategic importance to Wiley and their commitment to supporting scientific progress in the region.
