The Lucknow Municipal Corporation is preparing to relocate its headquarters to Gomti Nagar, near Fun Republic Mall. Construction of the new building, expected to be completed within 12-18 months, will feature a dome similar to the city's Vidhan Sabha.
The new LMC headquarters, costing ₹400 crore and situated on a 4-acre plot of Kendriya Karyashala land, will boast an imposing facade and include facilities such as archives, a library, and a museum.
According to senior LMC officials, the current headquarters in Lalbagh, dating back to the British era, no longer meets the needs of a growing Lucknow, necessitating the move to a new location.
